Immerse yourself in the art of natural dyeing in this two-day hands-on workshop using plants and materials sourced from nature, you’ll explore the creative possibilities of botanical dyes while connecting with the natural world.
Day 1: Using local flora to create your own stunning, naturally dyed fabrics, we will dye both silk organza and fine linen in preparation for day 2. On day one we will also dive into different natural dyeing techniques, and the unique characteristics of each botanical source.
Day 2 : Turn your dyed pieces into a multi layered and dimensional wall hanging, pillow covering, curtain or small quilt. Using the fabrics you dyed on the first day we will further embellish and piece them using simple linen thread and hand stitching techniques to create a beautiful and functional piece of art for your home.

  • Two day workshop, each day is 3 hours, located at the Water's Edge Fiber & Dye studio in Seabrook, Washington.

    Day One: Receive instruction on dyeing silk and linen fabric with natural dyes, flowers and plant materials.

    Day Two: Receive guidance in piecing,layering and stitching your created textiles from Day 1 into a personalized wall hanging, pillow covering, curtain or small quilt.

    This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to explore natural dyeing, creativity, and connection with nature and community. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary. For day two we will be stitching, all supplies will be provided but if you have personal favorite tools to use feel free to bring them!
