Naturally dyed silk with Sea kelp (Stephanocystis osmundacea) or Chain Bladder Kelp. The pillow is pieced with botanically dyed silk and natural 100% woven wool fabric which is hand quilted together using linen thread.
Every year while visiting the wild Northern California Coast  I collect kelp that has washed up on the shore, I spend hours laying the kelp out on the silk to create designs that will imprint the fabric with the memory of their form.
This pillow is named after one of the Greek Nereids, Dyname known for her influence over the Sea's power. 
Did you not know that algae provide aproximately 50% of oxygen production on our planet . All the more reason to appreciate these beauties!
